Milan, 30 May 2023 - The project "Towards the implementation of the e-CMR in Italy" has made it possible not only to evaluate the benefits of the electronic consignment note but also to develop some guidelines to overcome possible critical elements for its rapid implementation and widespread adoption by road haulage companies in Italy.
The approval in the Council of Ministers of 17 April 2023 of the Bill ratifying the accession of the Italian Republic to the "Additional Protocol to the Convention concerning the contract for the international carriage of goods by road (CMR), relating to the electronic consignment note" (link) represents the first step towards making the e-CMR a reality for Italy as well.
For this to be possible, it is important that the ratification of the protocol is followed by implementing regulations and actions that facilitate, simplify and support the adoption of the e-CMR by Italian companies.
For this delicate phase in which the foundations for the success of the e-CMR are being laid, the Project "Towards the implementation of the e-CMR in Italy" makes available technical tables that will be activated at the various Ministries, institutions interested parties and all the players in the transport and logistics system, the results produced during the Project and which have been collected in the three reports.
1. State-of-the-art report on current road transportation documentation
2. Results of the e-CMR Italy pilot
3. Project Final Report, which reports the most significant observations made during the project and indicates some useful guidelines for the implementation of the e-CMR.
